       The new NPG plant is expected to be commissioned in the fourth quarter of 2025, increasing BASF’s global NPG production capacity from the current 255,000 tonnes per year to 335,000 tonnes, strengthening its position as one of the world’s leading NPG producers. BASF currently has NPG production facilities in Ludwigshafen (Germany), Freeport (Texas, USA), and Nanjing and Jilin (China).
       “The investment in the new NPG plant at our integrated site in Zhanjiang will enable us to meet the growing needs of our customers in Asia, particularly in the powder coatings sector in China,” said Vasilios Galanos, Senior Vice President Intermediates Asia Pacific at BASF. “Thanks to the synergies of our unique integrated model and best-in-class technologies, we are confident that the investment in the new NPG plant will strengthen our competitive advantage in China, the world’s largest chemical market.”
       NPG has high chemical and thermal stability and is an intermediate product used mainly in the production of resins for powder coatings, particularly for coatings in the construction industry and household appliances.
